I have been trying to get this thing working all afternoon and evening - Very Frustrating and ready to send the whole package back.
I have a error message "Failed to establish a connection with the Butterfly Connect unit" - What on Earth is a Butterfly Connect unit?
I have had messages from Lee and I cannot see what I have done wrong. I do have a connection to the pilot aware hot spot but the 192.168.1.1 says Licence expired and the Interfaces Navigation, ADS-B, TRX and GPS all have a Red mark and state Disconnected.
Can anyone assist with my problem.
Regards John

Have you entered your licence key and saved it ?
A butterfly connect is basically your wifi connection from your tablet to your Pilotaware. It is a device used by FLARM but Pilotaware has its own in the form of the wifi pluged into your Pilotaware device.

Hi John
When entering the key, the only characters are,
Numbers 0-9
Letters A-F
Alse be careful of mixing B and 8,
Please let us know how you get on
One other thing, does your quick start guide have 2 pages of information ?
Somebody reported that they only had a single side if printed instructions
Thx
Lee

Hi,
Yes I have now check the configuration page and the key is correct and I have clicked the Save button about a hundred times.
I still get that Can't connect to the Butterfly Connect unit.
Actually I have no idea what this means.
Hope someone can guide me to get my unit working

Hi john,
After entering the key, what expiry date is reported ?
It should now be a year from today, is that the case ?
It should not say expired()
Butterfly connect failure is skydemon telling you it is getting no wifi information passed to it, from pilotaware
Thx

I have checked my 0 zeros and they are zeros not O (letter).
Still no joy - John

Hi John
If you are still stuck, could you please post a screenshot of the pilotaware web
1. Home page
2. Configure page
Thx

After entering the software key (Licence Key) I can't see any date on that page even after pressing Save.
There is a date on the Home page which says Wed May 11th 2016

Thank you Richard. I have just posted my Home and configuration page requested by Lee.
I'll wait for Lee to get back to me - there maybe something in those pages which indicates the fault.
John ps I part built a Europa trigear but now have a Sportscruiser.

Hi john
Just investigating, but first impression, last 4 chatacters look wrong, looks like
Oscar bravo bravo zero
Not
Zero bravo bravo zero
Could you check ?
Edited:
looks like 2 mistakes - but difficult to tell from resolution
C6F8 - correct
C6FB - Bravo instead of Eight
and
0BB0 - correct
OBB0 - Oscar instead of Zero
OK, looks like it should be
5D9F-C6F8-9277-0BB0
but looks like you have typed
5D9F-C6FB-9277-OBB0
^ ^
Thx

I am very very pleased all is working.
Yes I have made the mistake - Silly me - it was the second bunch of 4 digits which was wrong.
Thank you for all the help and suggestions - Now I just feel like a fool - I'll have a beer and go to bed.

I doubt you are a fool, but if you are - I hope you are a happy and contented fool :)

John,
As Lee says, don't beat yourself up. Most of us went through these loops in the learning stage. Rather congratulate yourself on purchasing a quality product and getting it to work.
I have been out testing again today with a colleague, so missed most of the hiatus, but am gratified to see that the 'old hands' are coming forward on the forum and providing help based on their experience to get things moving.
Well done all.
Best Regards
Peter
