Does anyone know if it's possible to connect a PilotAware system to the Garmin Pilot app on the iPad?
I'm looking for a navigation app I could possibly use in the US and Canada as well as Europe.
Thanks all.

Hi Stephen,
EasyVFR by PocketFMS works fine on the iPad and supports PAW. It's map database includes Canada and the US as well as the whole of Europe. Garmin devices are not currently compatible with PAW, but I'm not sure about the app you mention.

Hi Stephen,
Do you know what format is used for the traffic information ?
I recall looking into a format I think it was called GDL90, and the traffic sentences were not overly complicated.
I wonder if I could get a demo version of the Garmin software to try out.
Can you post a link to where you would get this from the iTunes store ?
Thx
Lee

Hi Lee,
I don't know very much at all about it, just wondered if anyone had any experience with it.
The app is available for 30 days for free on iTunes: https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/garmin-pilot/id340917615?mt=8
I've not downloaded it yet as I'm in the US without my PAW unit, so was planning on having a look when I got back, but thought I'd throw out an initial question.
Here's the app's information: https://buy.garmin.com/en-US/US/on-the-go/apps/garmin-pilot-/prod115856.html
Seems it can handle some form of inbound ADS-B information as it's compatible with this: https://buy.garmin.com/en-US/US/in-the-air/avionics-safety/weather-solutions/gdl-39/prod93601.html
Thanks Lee!!

Disregard this, seems to work on Bluetooth and seems proprietary...
