Title: RH Light stays blue - SOLVED
Post by: Timothy on March 18, 2025, 03:42:57 pm
The control panel says that the PAW is connected to the phone, but the RH blue light stays on all the time, even on the ground, with 4 bars of 5G.

What am I doing wrong?

(It worked a few weeks ago.)

Hi Timothy,

That would imply that there isn't any internet coming through the Wi-Fi hotspot.

Were you able to confirm that your mobile device was providing Internet through the Hotspot?

Thanks,

Ashley

Yes, I’m picking up NOTAMs and weather on SkyDemon.

Before we get too excited, my iPad was having difficulty using the hotspot, so I have reset network settings on the iPhone, and that has made the iPad work, so, until I get back to the aircraft, let’s assume that the PAW was having the same problem and will now be OK.  Sorry to waste time.

Sometimes there is the 192.168.1.1 conflict - without seeing your network topology its not possible to say if this is an issue or not.

Just to close this down, this turned out to be a very subtle issue with the iPhone - something to do with a VPN running even though a VPN wasn't running, which was persistent across hard resets, but which was (somehow) solved by a Apple Store Genius.
