Trying to copy the latest release (20151107) to my PAW's as I have done numerous times before but it is hanging at boot up
random: nonblocking pool is initialised
I have tried this on three PAW's all the same....
Any ideas

Further update....I was doing an auto install without connecting up the HDMI lead....
I repeated the process with the HDMI lead connected and there is a prior error on first boot
error creating the file system
mke2fs 1.42.12 (29-Aug-2014)
found a dos partition table in dev/mmcblk0p6
proceed anyway? (y,n)

Managed to load and run 20151107 all seems ok on SD.
Did get a lot of SER-TRX communication attempts with the last log message saying: SER-TRX: Configuration Failed.
Don't recall seeing that before...but then I usually only attach a monitor when updating the S/W.

Hi Brinsley,
This is an issue with formatting of the SD card, I sometimes see this as well.
The only solution I have found so far is to do a full SD card format (overwrite)
This will solve this issue.
Thx

Hi Colin,
These Diagnostics are telling you that PAW is trying to configure and use the P3I transceiver.
I am guessing that you do not have one of these installed, which is not a problem because we
are currently evaluating alternatives, so the advice is not to install an ARF at the moment
I presume it boots up and everything is working OK afterwards ?
Thx
Lee

Hi Lee,
Thanks for the response. You're right I don't have the transceiver installed. Everything else looks as it did with the previous version.
Thanks,
Colin

Thanks Lee
Currently reformatting 10 SD cards with full overwrite selected.....Thus far haven't had to do that...that's what tripped me up....
Feel a numpty now......
Where's the naughty corner......!!
Thanks again

Same problem when it tries to write to file system.. Done full formats etc with no luck. Have reverted to previous version and that seems oK

Hi Frank,
You need to select
FORMAT TYPE: FULL (Overwrite)
FORMAT SIZE ADJUSTMENT: ON
Is this what you did ?
Thx
Lee

Yes did that but it couldn't extract the new program to the sd card. Reverted to the old version which installed correctly but unfortunately Skydemon says cant connect to butterfly unit. Will have to investigate
Sorted It had lost the Licence Key..
-
Hi Lee
I followed your instructions and of course worked flawlessly
As mentioned previously that is the first time I have had to select the
FORMAT TYPE: FULL (Overwrite)
in previous formats I have only selected
FORMAT TYPE: FULL (Quick) and had no problems.......
I live and learn !!
Just for information the new instructions in the software information guide on the top page specify
FORMAT TYPE: FULL (Erase)
Not sure what the fundamental differences are
Kind regards
Brinsley

I have now got my old Pi B re-licensed using its Ethernet port, and I managed to get two tablets connected to it, one running PilotAwareAndroid to supply the GPS and it worked ok with XC Soar and/or Sky Demon.

Is there a problem with the 07 download. It's displaying a copleatly different MAC address. I changed the wifi dongal to another one and still see the same MAC address. Tried again on another Pilotaware and it shows a different MAC address but same MAC address on two different wifi dongals it looks like it is displaying the MAC address of the pi card instead of wifi. This makes it not possible to match licence to wifi.
Very confused!!!
-
Hi
The mac address is now bound to the eth0 port of the pi.
This was a request from a number of users especially when they had failed wifi dongles
The key you generated previously is still valid if you use the same wifi dongle.
If you have lost your key, go ahead and request a new key
Thx
Lee

Lee thank you for your support.
This has go me confused (easy to do). I have 3 wifi dongals and have now got them mixed up for what pi they we in so I can not know what licence goes with which dongal
If I request a new licence key for the pi it will stay with that pi so if I swop wifi dongals it will still work on that pi?
I can see this is a better option.

Richard,
This is exactly right.
The license is now bound to the PI, not the WiFi Dongle, so you can swop the Dongle without requiring a new license

Hi - this is interesting. I only see FULL (Erase) and FULL (Overwrite).
I think the guide is wrong and it should be FULL (Overwrite) - will correct it in v0.4
-
I think it is worth mentioning the version of SDFormatter is V4.0.
The options are:
QUICK
FULL (Erase)
FULL(OverWrite)
