Title: Qustion from a Newbie about the IDC 40 pin connector
Post by: pauldgardner on October 14, 2015, 07:28:42 pm
Hi all,

I have just ordered all the parts to make this excellent device which I will use with Skydemon when flying our Zenair 601XL from Compton Abbas.

Looking at the construction PDF the 40 pin IDC connector seems to only have four connections made to it so does it need to be a 40 pin connector?

Safe flying.

Paul

Hi Paul
No it does not other people have used dupont connectors
anything that connects the 4 wires should be fine - so long as the wires are not too resistive

Thx
Lee

And if you use  40 pin IDC make sure it is not a bulky one as it won't fit in the standard case. Guess how I know :)

The Slice of Pi / POD board doesn't have a 40 pin connector, just a 26 pin one. You just install it at one end of the 40 pins on the Pi B+.

Presumably one could use an old E/IDE from a redundant older PC.
