Hello,
I have Pilotaware and Stratux with Flarm.
At Stratux I can output Flarm USB-Serial.
For Pilotaware I can import Flarm Serial-USB.
But it will not transfer.

Hi Positiv,
Lee would have to advise on data compatibility, however on the ‘physical’ connection level - How are you transferring the data - by which I mean what type of cable? Presumably 2x USB to RS232 Serial cables connected back to back - I don’t think you can just connect USB to USB, though Paul S or Ian M may be able to clarify. The cables need to be true Serial Level (not TTL) and you must make sure that ‘Data Out’ from the Stratux/FLARM is connected to the ‘Data In’ at the PilotAware side.
You also need to make sure you configure the correct USB port in the PAW to FLARM-In. Users often get confused about the port numbering. Not sure about settings in the Stratux.

Peter

Correct you cannot do straight USB- USB, but the OP from Positiv implies that he is not doing that.
Comments regarding USB-Serial adaptors and settings are relevant.
We know FLARM into PAW works, but I have no idea what format Stratux is pumping out. It would make sense that it complies with the FLARM standards so that 3rd party displays would function correctly. So in theory it most likely will work.
More details required on how wired and settings used. Error messages if any?

Can you post a snippet of the messages that are being sent
Or send in an email

Stratux to Sky-Map per WLan OK
Stratux to "USB-Serial to Serial USB " PC Serial Monitor OK
Pilotaware USB Port 1 is Flarm in
( By Stratox Config = only Flarm is ON )
Stratux out is GDL90

Hi Positiv,
Do you have a reference / datasheets for the USB modules you are using for the interconnection?
(Sorry my German is not quite up to ‘technical’ level, but a data sheet might help identify an issue.)
p.s. not easy to see from the photos, but I assume the board is double sided with the connecting pins repeated exactly the same on both sides of the board? Also not easy to see what the on-board switches are doing.
Assuming you are using the same USB port as in the bilder-upload photo, that is Port 1 on PilotAware Config.

Hi Positiv,
What is the message format output from your stratux ?
is this
- FLARM Data messages, or
- GDL90 messages ?
My suspicion is you are generating GDL90 not FLARM
PilotAware is expecting FLARM data messages on its input port
Thx
Lee

Would not it be good too ....
Simply data coming.
to send without control
Data-In
like Flam-In

Hi Lee,
I’ve just seen Positiv’s updated earlier post - Stratux Data Out is GDL90. That will be the issue!

Hello Lee,
advantageous
Another shot. Forward data by USB in and than to W-Lan
No matter what.

The protocols are not compatible. GDL90 will not talk to Flarm.
As for RS232 or TTL, it shouldn't matter as long as the two adaptors are the same.
I had the same thought some weeks ago and had a short discussion about PAW being able to input GDL90, but I thought I'd have a search around first to see if anyone had written the software for Stratux to be able to output the Flarm protocol.
