Ho Folks,
I have a UBlox-7 on its way, but I'm trying to order another 2 units, and all UK stockists appear to be dry (too may of us building PilotAware) :)
Anyone know of a UK stockist with some of these units? Or do I have to get some from the US or China (quality of the latter is a concern).
Many thanks.

I bet you got the last one on ebay..... I was ordering it when it said all sold out... You were very lucky I nearly beat you to it. Never mind.
I have just orded from http://www.aliexpress.com/item/1-pcs-x-VK-172-GPS-Smart-Antenna-NEW-USB-GPS-Receiver-Ublox7-for-PC-laptop/32316013341.html
Its a slow boat from china, but will arrive eventually. (Errrrr... you are lucky) :'(

Would it be possible to mount this, Ublox NEO-7M GPS Aircraft Module:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/291522612415
GPS/GLONASS device in the top of the case?
I haven't built my standard device yet, waiting on parts, and I'm a novice, so this might be a stupid question.

Yes but you'll need a suitable USB to TTL serial port converter.

Yes wouldnt really recommend this, I think the ublox dongles are pretty good, and also the G-MOUSE, ie one of these

On eBay and AliExpress there are lots of UBlox NEO M8N modules on offer, some combined with HCM5883L compass sensors. They are designed for drones and claim <1m precision. Would these work at all with PilotAware?

Can you post a reference ?

When you search for "ublox neo-m8n" on aliexpress, there are tons of references. Some bare modules, others encased. They almost all come with break-out cables for drone-specific flight controllers, my guess is they are RS-232 or I2C.

Have not found any USB dongles yet, except for this module:

As it also offers RX/TX and SCL/SDA pins, this module might make a nice addition to an all-in-one shield.

Anything which is supported by the linux kernel showing up as either
/dev/ttyACMx
/dev/ttyUSBx
Will work.
The only restriction is that if the device is /dev/ttyUSBx, then you need to configure from the web interface which USB port is being used, because this is simply a USB/RS232 bridge
