Title: update download

Hi I have done the latest download but how do I do this part ....  This is done by selecting Install.  After a short period, the new software will be implemented. To ensure that it has been implemented return to the home page where the new software version will be shown  ???

Hi John.
I assume you are referring to the USB stick upgrade method?
Copy the file to the root of a pen drive. Do not change the file name.
Put USB pen drive in spare USB port on PAW(see note)
Boot up PAW and connect your tablet or phone to the Wi-Fi hotspot when it becomes available.
Open browser on tablet/phone and go to 192.168.1.1, you should now be on the homepage
Click the updates button
Click Check for updates
If one is found on the pen drive the Click install
Make cup of tea and drink it (biscuits optional)
On tablet check, if Wi-Fi hotspot has returned. If so connect to it again
Back to the browser on the tablet and check the home page to see if the version is correct, and all is working.
Note: it is OK to remove GPS or ADSB dongle to get access to a USB port, but not the smaller Wi-Fi Dongle.

Pretty sure John is quoting from the latest instructions for the ‘Automatic’ software update via Ethernet.

Looks like we need to review the instructions to clarify the procedure as several users have now asked about this.

I have updated the operating instructions to include Pete’s recommendations to make it clearer.
This will be updated onto the website tomorrow

Hi yes Peter I have done it that way ...thank you for your help ....is there a way of me telling if it was successful before I use it ?

Is there actually any need for the LAN update to be in the instructions? It seems to cause so many issues.
