Post by: Shortwing on January 17, 2018, 09:30:24 am
I have the standard one, but ideally need one about a metre long, any recommendations for a good quality power lead?

Thanks

I think PilotAware, now ships with a metre long cable for power by default (we found the longer cable had no adverse power drop)

Try dropping an email to Dave Styles at pilotawarehardware.com

these are not usually sale items, but I am sure you can come to an agreement if its not too much hassle

thx

Juicebitz do a range of lengths in the 20AWG power cables. They were the original source recommended for PAW. I use their 0.5 metre one and it’s fine.

Just noticed Lee had posted while I was typing, so have modified my reply accordingly.

I was going to say that the PilotAware shop www.pilotawarehardware.com only lists 2 metre ones for ‘sale’ but as Lee says, Dave may be able to supply a 1 metre one instead, so worth giving him a try first. If Dave can’t help, you can buy in various lengths from 0.5 to 4 metres direct from www.juicebitz.co.uk - search their site for ‘USB to Micro USB 20awg’ Just a word of warning, I have used these cables up to 2 metres without any voltage drop problems and suspect the longer ones will also be fine, but I have never personally tried using a power cable longer than 2 metres.
