Just out of interest, I found this quite interesting:

A view of my coverage at 1,000ft attached.

Hi Kev,

Looks like a useful tool for predicting potential benefit of new sites before deciding whether or not to comit. How closely is it comparing to your latest ognrange heatmap?

Peter

p.s. Glad I re-read this, predictive text was insisting on '....whether or not to vomit.'

Hi Peter

With 250mw into 3dbi (my understanding of what we are tx'ing) and the default 45dBuV/m, it is a little conservative (for an external clear view aerial)  in my opinion, but lowering that gives a good view of what is possible / not possible.

It clearly shows for example, that I am always gong to get better reception to the E, NE and SE than I am to the W, NW and SW due to the geography around the Midlands.

Cheers
Kev

Hi Kev,

P3i transmission is actually 500mW ERP into 3dBi. General principle is the same however. Your transmission 'pattern' should still be much the same, only with a bit greater range.

Regards

Peter

p.s. Thanks for the spelling lesson Alan!  :-\
