Hello all,
My Pilotaware unit works OK when on battery only. When the alternator kicks in and other power users come on line, the Pilotaware stops. Must be voltage variations. I do not want a separate battery for that with the hassle of needing to recharge that between flights. Just a smart voltage stabilizer would do the trick. Any suggestions? Hans

This is very interesting, I think this is what a number of users have probably been seeing in some electrical installations.
The argument usually goes - it works fine for my iPad, but of course the power from your aircraft is simply topping up the iPad battery, in the case of a direct power feed, this is more critical
thanks for hilighting this
Thx

Fitting a big reservoir capacitor and diode before the cigarette lighter may absorb the noise spikes? Needs investigating though.
