Title: External antenna gps - ok to mount on an aluminium bracket?
Post by: Martino on March 26, 2024, 02:08:56 pm
Hi there;

Fitting the external antenna kit, thinking of mounting the gps mouse on an alu bracket with it oriented “as normal”, beneath a rear window, and otherwise a distance away from metal. Will this work? Is it ok if it is on a small aluminium plate? Or will it degrade gps performance?

Thanks for advice

Martin

Hi Martin,

As previously advised, perfectly OK to mount it on a small bracket as long as it is kept 'right side up'.

Just a minor point - are you aware that the GPS mouse contains a magnet - which of course won't stick to aluminium, but would mount perfectly onto a light steel bracket... (or you could of course use double-sided tape).

Best Regards
