General Discussion / Re: GPS connection loss in flight
« on: January 20, 2016, 11:07:34 pm »
Hi Lee,

i always used ANP but very recently i started to use Skydemon.
As i wrote, at home i never had issues, very robust, stable and no issues at all.
In fact the "lost gps" is the message coming from Skydemon which result in a navigation stop. Restarting navigation everything works correctly for some minutes and again loose the gps connection.
I will try to change the wifi dongle, maybe that is the issue. Another test i'll do is to power all with a power bank instead of the 12/5 volt converter, i suspect a lot of noise on the power line.

I'll keep you informed on the test result (hopefully this WE will be flyable !)

General Discussion / GPS connection loss in flight
« on: January 17, 2016, 10:23:25 pm »
Hi all,

today i had chance to test in flight the unit and i was really surprised because GPS connection had been lost several times during a 20 minutes flight.
I tried both the GPS recommended by the PAW team but with the same result, after some time random loss of connection (wifi still working and ok).
I used a  lot the unit in-house with perfect results so i don't think is a HW problem, it seems more something related to the speed which is "stressing" the GPS.

Does someone have (or had) the same problem ?

Hi !

Living in Italy i will have the possibility to test mode C detection every day because i live between a small airport and a small airfield (and i fly too!). Here ULM and GA are mostly in C-Mode so i can get a lot of data almost every good day to fly.
In addition ADS-B traffic is frequent on my area (i vae a minimum of 2/3 readings every 15 minutes).

Let me know Lee if can help

Hi,

is it possible to know if the new module will transmit/receive in a legal Italian frequency ?

Hi,

got this turnaround from Lee: it seems there's a bug in ANP, try the following procedure, with mine works every time (boring but working).

Goto configuration, sensors, FLARM.

Tick off the sensor (form green to White)

goto pin code, delete the value and reenter 6001
goto IP Address, delete the value and reenter 192.168.1.1
goto Port number, delete the value and reenter 2000

Tick on the sensor, it will connect immediately.

Unfortunatelly you have to do this every time you start ANP.

Please write something to Xample FB page about this, the more they receive bug notes the better they will improve it in next release.

That's good also for me, a screen on the device for monitoring and other purposes can be a good idea.

It sounds anyhow encouraging, if you will include the function as a "testing the beta of the beta" i will test it for sure.

Trying also to spread the infos in the Italian VFR forum, more and more people getting interested there in the wole system.

Thaank you vor your work !

I Agree with Steeve, here in Italy most of the ULM are euipped with a C mode trasp and it would be a great aid for our flight safety to be at least aware that someone is flying around us.
Please keep me posted, i will be a good tester in case you want to develop something. ;)

Hi all,

does anyone have problems in connecting FLARM in Airnav Pro ?

All my settings are ok but i think i am forgetting something, when i switch FLARM to on in Airnav Pro the indicator changes to yellow for a while and than to red. This happens cyclically and never ending.
