General Discussion / Imagine if Wellingtons had PilotAware.
« on: December 15, 2015, 08:39:35 pm »
Hi All,

a bit off topic, but really this petition should be on every flying Internet forum.
Should RAF crews only be recognised if they flew from UK airbases ?

If you agree bravery should be recognised regardless of where you took off from, then maybe you'll join me in signing this petition.

regards,..

General Discussion / Re: Moving Forward

Hi all,
It's the calm before the storm.

We have over 300 requests for PilotAware on the hardware site now. Which hopefully means there will be over 300 planes with PAW from day one.
What it's important to remember is that those planes can see eachother regardless of transponder type or fitment.
The post above is interesting as it says "once we get to critical mass, we can triangulate other aircraft"
But of course, once we get to critical mass, we won't need to worry if the other plane is Mode C, Mode S or ADSB, because we'll all see eachother anyway !

Hi rg,

email sent ! This looks like something that PilotAware Hardware could help with, we have a 3D printer the project can use for prototyping. We also have some contacts to have bespoke cases injection moulded at reasonable cost. (cheaper than above)

I've dropped you a line by email, everyone has been working flat out on getting the technical parts working, maybe we could look at bespoke cases now, in the spirit of PilotAware, we could do it collaboratively and come up with the perfect case !

General Discussion / Re: Pi Zero and PilotAware

I was saying to Dave earlier today, the new mini Pi might be useful for creating an PAW for drones.
We need the thumbs up smiley on here too!

This is definitely on the roadmap, need to get the first version and the version for paragliders (own battery, bespoke case etc) done first !

www.pilotawarehardware.com !

The official PilotAware hardware website.

Will be updated on Monday after we have recovered from the show.
Basically, go and add your email, you then get the introductory price on either the whole system, software pre installed, one year license included.

or the introductory price on the shield on it's own.

New radio, 20km PLUS, reliably, consistently, just waiting for CE paperwork completion.
(actually up to 30k, but 20k always)

Those that bought an ARF before the state of the nation address will get a voucher to refund the price of the ARF against a new shield, even though you didn't buy them from us, the thinking is why should early adopters/testers be out of pocket and those that waited to reap the rewards not?

New shield has radio, barometer and all the twiddly bits to make it work.

I'm sure there will be a full update tomorrow, we are just recovering from a very busy flyer show!

If you do nothing else, get your email on the list, at PilotAwareHardware.com

cheers

Dave.
