Technical Support / Re: SkyDemon loss of connection (SOLVED)
« on: June 07, 2019, 02:56:33 pm »
Quick question... Could my drop-outs have anything to do with the bluetooth connectivity with my Bose A20 headset? If so will Lee's upgraded software address this issue?

Thanks Vic, I'll give it a try along with the FLARM setting.

Interesting this wasn't an issue when i initially used Rosetta but has been a P.I.T.A for the last 2 or 3 months.

I'm really interested to hear if the team find any problems. I am experiencing exactly the same issue as the OP and will now try the FLARM setting in SD as a get around. I'm using a juicyBitz lead (i've tried 2 new ones) and a PowerADD 30000mah battery pack with nothing else plugged into it and still getting the 0x50000 fault showing historical power drop . The cpu temperature was at 66oC (a bit hot I think).
I have now ordered the (Keith Vinnings) recommended battery pack and will test again.

Technical Support / Aircraft visible on one tablet but not another
« on: March 01, 2018, 11:18:31 pm »
Two tablets both running SkyDemon and both connected to the same PAW unit. One shows an alert, the other doesn't

Can anyone give a reason why the alert didn't show on the 2nd screen?

General Discussion / Re: End feed dipole

Thanks Keith, I've placed the order and hopefully it will be processed and arrive by Monday morning  :).

A point to note is that the order form is not a secure web page. Any information added (name, address, etc) could be compromised.

Is there any other way to place an order other than going through the website?

In the products for sale is an end feed dipole... Is this for 869.5MHz?
I've only gone and lost mine and need a replacement!!

General Discussion / Re: Dongle temperature

I haven't removed the cover and will monitor the temperature for the time being but have followed your advice and set Mode C/S detection on and set to Base Station RX. I haven't had a chance to try it in the air yet but looking forward to when I can....Unfortunately the trial period has now expired though.

A couple of things

Interestingly the log is showing what looks like an error...

Use of uninitialized value $eth0_ip in concatenation (.) or string at htdocs/index.cgi line 152.

Maybe its nothing to worry about or its because the Ethernet port isn't connected but I would (probably wrongly) assume that this will be filling up the log file pretty quick as it is updating every few seconds. Does the log file empty itself at any time? Such as when its unplugged or will it just keep creating new ones and gradually fill the memory card?

....and, While sitting at home I have had 2 drop-outs of the wifi. I suspect this may be because I am monitoring multiple pages (Home, Radar, Logging) as well as connected with SD all with my laptop.

I'm pretty sure its all working okay.
I've tested it on the window sill and got the 4 greens on the config page. Connected to SD it displays aircraft in the area perfectly.
Just one slight query... Should I be able to see it showing up on my FR24 feed.... The aerials are within 30cm of each other?
I haven't had a chance to try it in flight yet.

General Discussion / Dongle temperature

Has anyone else noticed the temperature emitted by the ADSB dongle supplied with the PAW classic?
Mine runs so hot (and smells hot) that I can barely touch it.

P.S. Unit supplied approx 2 months ago.

Technical Support / Re: Pilotaware and Weather info
« on: August 17, 2017, 03:20:12 pm »
As previously mentioned the transmissions are going to be carried out by UAvionix and from my reading so far I understand that any transmission on 978Mhz is open for anybody to receive as long as they have the correct RX kit.
Who transmits the live data once the trials have finished has not been announced as far as I am aware.

Do you think that the receiving and displaying of this weather data (and anything else that comes over 978Mhz) will be something that Pilotaware will plan to/would like to add in the near future or is it not in the scope for future projects?

Following on from the CAA announcement regarding ADS-B.....

Is the PilotAware Team planning to add weather info via 978Mhz in the future?
