Just got back from the LAA rally and had four aircraft keeping station with me for the whole trip.
Totally impossible as they where a mix of RV6/sports cruiser/ Seneca and Eurostar,
Also lost audio, probably a good thing as it would have driven me nuts,
Any suggestions on what could be the problem?

General Discussion / Trig 21 GPS receiver
« on: April 15, 2018, 11:35:27 pm »
Hi i have a Trig 21 transponder using a cat5 lead to my pilotaware and it works great,   But Trig are now producing a new certified GPS  https://www.gps.co.uk/trig-tn72-gps-receiver/p-0-1978/
that i presume will allow a SIL-1 output from my transponder so i can be seen by everyone including CAT aircraft,   ( i think a worthwhile improvement over my existing system)

Again i assume it would be easy to configure my Pilotaware to allow use of the Trig TN72,
Any thoughts on the above anyone ?

General Discussion / outside antenna/s
« on: May 15, 2017, 09:25:58 am »
Is there any suitable outside antenna for the paws and would it be possible to combine two through a splitter, I.E. one on top and bottom of the fuselage to give the maximum reception strength,

If not can you run two internal antenna through a splitter for much of a gain in signal strength ?

Technical Support / aircraft reg doesn't show any more
« on: April 09, 2017, 05:55:26 pm »
Hi Guys
i have just fitted a paws unit to my aircraft and before installing it i had it running fine with my reg showing in traffic and also in sky demon,
decided on a permanent installation so shorten the Aerial leads, made up a permanent cage for the pi micro computer, run power through an 12volt to 5 volt transformer,
it all powers up nicely but it will not show my registration no on Skydemon, other traffic and Mode S shows clearly but in traffic my aircraft is missing,
any ideas?
i have ordered an USB cable to take the GPS signal from the PI direct to my Trig 21 that has just been updated to the latest software available,
The trig 21 is showing coordinate and appears to be working normally,
appreciate any pointers on where to look next,
have included a picture of when it worked last week,
Ivor
