I raised this last year and it was supported that settings not (always) saved:

Distilling all above, looks like GPS ok and culprit is intermittent WiFi dropouts. Does PAW log this and, if so, how to find?

Following this with interest. Much comment about Android and with/without SIM. I use iPad Mini 4 (with a SIM) and also experience intermittent dropouts reported by SkyDemon so perhaps this rules out Android/SIM. I also have hardwire to a Dynon Skyview which continues to show traffic. I'm making the link here that, if traffic continues to be shown on Skyview, then PAW must have a GPS signal but, for some reason, is not broadcasting it to the iPad. Maybe this helps?

Hi Paul, Are you seeing ‘tail numbers’ on Skyview? Despite having the SV parameter set to ‘YES’, I don’t, although they show fine on Skydemon. Just trying to identify if I have. Glitch or it is a feature…

It took me a while to get PAW and SV talking nicely to one another but worthwhile. One thing though, despite setting 'Show Tail Numbers' to 'Yes' on SV, I never see any (only traffic symbol/relative height/direction) although they show fine on iPad running SkyDemon. Is this same for everyone, or just me?

Thanks for pointers. Cookies might be my fault- will check.
Good news on the Nm option

I’m guessing this is not presently possible (though confirmation would be nice to rule out any error on my part) so could it be considered as a suggested enhancement. Also, would be good to be able to show distances in Nm rather than Km.

Radar screen has various parameters: H+/-; V+/-; TFC; MET; RAIN; POI; AIRFIELDS.

It seems I have to set my preferences each time I connect? Is there a way to save?

Change of baud rate made no difference. Grrr

PilotAware configured: 'Flarm-OUT' at 57600 baud
Skyview configured: 'Flarm Traffic' at 57600 baud

Uses recommended USB/serial lead with USB into Rosetta and serial tx spliced into Skyview harness.

The salient point is that everything worked fine with same settings on PAW Classic and those on Dynon not changed. Hence my thinking baud rate. I will change/try and report back.

I use serial connection to Dynon Skyview and have recently upgraded from Classic to Rosetta and fitted external aerials.

On Classic, never had a problem but on the Rosetta, the link drops every five minutes or so. It usually reconnects after a little while, only to drop again. Each time Mrs Dynon yells at me and it's a real pain.

Point taken about cables but the timing of this and intermittent nature suggests to me that I have a different problem.

Are the configuration parameters the same for the Rosetta as the Classic? I can't see why they would be different but maybe faster processor needing faster baud rate or something like that? I'm using 'Alarm-OUT' with 57600.

Thanks Paul for chat and all your help. As soon as it gets warmer, I'll have play and see how I can improve things.

....and it should, of course, have been 200mm

It's a Eurofox. I note PaulSS' placements but I have less space to play with due (912iS) fuel pumps and servos for autopilot occupying the space under P1 seat. My transponder ant lives under pax seat with it's ground plane. PAW is presently living near side window pax side on baggage bay slope. I'm thinking I could possibly accommodate a 200cm ground plane disk for the P3i further aft and leave the PAW ADSB stubby where it presently is (cross tubes top of baggage bay). This all based on evidence that my reception of other aircraft (when flying in loose formation) is sketchy especially for those without transponder.
I tried a P3i internal dipole stuck to windscreen pax side but this seems to be worse than the one which screws directly into the classic. I suppose I could try moving that around if anybody has had success in a Eurofox.

Great. Thanks.
So if Vector reports strength of signals transmitted from my aircraft, do I just assume that any weak spots reported will similarly be weak spots for reception? If so, is there any way of checking the effectiveness of my PAW ADSB placement (without switching off my transponder which would be illegal)?

All very helpful. Thanks guys.

Just to build on PaulSS' reply, I had assumed the 'ADSB' filter in Vector was showing the output from my transponder. Are you saying that it is showing the ADSB input to PAW from its ADSB ant?
