Also handy pictures here: http://forum.pilotaware.com/index.php/topic,57.0.html
Which is adding baro to slice of POD. I think somewhere it says that the 3.3v pin out on the PI isn't strong enough, so you need a Slice of POD, digole board or similar (I barely know what I'm saying at this point)

General Discussion / Re: Quick Summary Of Pinouts And Connections

I've read this for the 3rd time and suddenly I understand it! I've also been staring at the baro, ARF, slice of POD and Pi and cross checking while the soldering iron sits there smoking gently. Previously I'd wondered if the Slice of POD had to fit over certain pins on the Pi. Don't judge me  :o
Thanks!

Thanks for that Ian, the pin connections were just what I needed as I'm new to this. A word of warning for novices (like me), I was just about to connect my MPL3115A2 when I noticed:
  a) the pins are configured differently, there are only 6 on mine and in a different order, but now I've spotted it it's not a problem
  b) one of my baro's is a less precise version, an adafruit MPL115A2 (my fault I think)
  c) My 3115 includes a temperature sensor, will that get used?

So double check what you've got and verify before melting stuff. All very new to me but very interesting.
Also, are there any plans to rename some threads so it's easier to find the pictures of wired up boards for different builds? eg this thread title doesn't mention the baro. I didn't find any info on adding a baro in the build manual, but I understand why it's not there

I'm using the Slice of POD board,  I've ordered another one from cpc.farnell.com, they seem to have a couple of hundred in stock so you might want to edit the 'known good hardware' sticky.

Finally, thanks for all you're doing guys, I keep meeting pilots who are very interested in this stuff, I think I'm going to end up building more than 2.

I get aircraft when the PAN message in the lower left corner says 96km or less. If I zoom out it shows PAN 160km and no aircraft. When I turn the PAN off the zoom changes to 70km, still displaying targets.
Even at 70km, I can still see Heathrow and Gatwick, I just need a co-linear aerial for home use now (if that's the right word).

I could see that working along side the forum,  to point people here and the web site. It might also be handy for testing against other sets. Ianfallon's Google map is also a great resource, I'll be joining it as soon as my box is up and running, although I'm inside the London TMA/class D

Would it be possible to mount this, Ublox NEO-7M GPS Aircraft Module:

GPS/GLONASS device in the top of the case?

I haven't built my standard device yet, waiting on parts, and I'm a novice, so this might be a stupid question.
