Hi
Yes I took the unit out and conected it to a router to do the download. I then added a usb lead and re instaled back in the AC so next time I can do the software upgrade via a usb stick

I tried updating my software today via a usb stick I followed the instruction's but nothing happened. The stick was plugged into a usb lead that is accessible as the main unit is plumbed in and a pain to get out.
I pressed the update button but the screen just did nothing and after twenty minutes I gave up.
Am I doing something wrong? and do you have to update the software what are the benefits.

I purchased a plastic hobby box drilled a couple of holes in for the leads in and out glued the small antenna to the lid and extended the dipole lead then tie wrapped the box under the seat on my flex. It works a treat

General Discussion / Mounting antenna,s

I Have  put my aware in a plastic weatherproof box as it will be in a flex wing. I have mounted the antennas
vertical one coming out the top of the box one at the bottom.
Is there any advantage to having either antenna on top or as they are both vertical  wont it make any difference?

General Discussion / Difference in traffic tab and Sky Demon

Right the new aware is up and running however when I look at the traffic tab
it was showing 10 aircraft at various ranges however only 3 were shown on Sky Demon.
Also a Cessna was showing on the traffic tab overhead distance 1 km I was looking at it from
my garden but nothing on shown on sky demon.

I'm completely lost my original unit worked fine until a couple of months ago when it went into sleep mode and showed the licence had expired.
I have purchased a new complete unit to put in my aircraft leaving my old unit. All I want to is run my old unit at home as a ground station so it requires a new licence key but I have no idea how to do this as I understand it the licence should run until May 2017.

Thanks for all the replies one quick question I have my I pad running sky demon linked to a micro avionics blue tooth so any warnings on sky demon can be heard in my helmet.
Would I hear the audible warning generated by the Paw

Also as I have both antennas the GPS unit the wifi dongle can I buy just the unit?

I'm as confused as you I bought my aware in September 2015 fully assembled it looks the same as the classic shown
on the Paw sales site so I'm not sure what version it is.

I have a original classic Paw unit if I purchased a bridge unit would it be a direct replacement. Does
it fit into the classic case.
