Should work well, though you might find it starts to slip round on the MRX plug eventually away from the vertical if the plug ever starts to work loose on the dongle. A tiny dab of silicone or hot glue (carefully applied) will prevent this.

made the same mod to a pigtail, added a couple of layers of heat shrink - works a treat!

decided to try and update the software while waiting for a reply
meant rebotting the PAW unit
now shows correct expiry date
and SD can see nearby aircraft

I got an email with my license update
tapped in the key
hit save
still show license expiry as 20170614
what did I do wrong?
software version is 20160530
(next job is to update to latest shiny ...)
