When PilotAware detects a mode C transmission it will initially flag the signal as a bearingless target.  If the aircraft transmitting that mode c signal is equipped with Pilotaware it will also transmit a PAW signal.  Does that mean that the receiving PAW hardware will identify the target both as bearingless and as a "known" target via its PAW transmission?  Just curious to better understand how the system works.

I formatted my 16GB card with the sdformat tool. After formatting the card I checked the card properties. Card was reported to be FAT32 so no need to do quick format with the native windows 10 for matter. Copied the files on to the formatted card, put the card in the PilotAware and let it boot up. Took about 20 mins for pilotaware wifi address to appear. Then using 192.168.1.1 I set up the required configuration. Very happy with updating process.

Would I gain anything by upgrading my processor to Pi3B and leaving all other Classic components unchanged. I am not too fussed about the aesthetic changes that come with Rosetta but would be more interested in performance issues.

I understand that an update of the software is imminent.  Will the PAW Classic unit be able to run the latest software or will an upgrade to Rosetta be necessary.

Thx

Thanks for the prompt replies.  I now understand!

I've checked my device. I am running Kernel 4.4.34-v7+

My SkyDemon version is 3.8.2.27336 (android beta), which does not yet have the PilotAware option in its connection menu.

Is there any expected performance advantage in using UDP messaging rather than the FLARM Protocol?

I don't understand lee's addendum to the latest software release.  What homepage is Lee referring to when he mentions the HOTSPOT and PLATFORM.
