Thanks Alan,
Nobody came along with the tricky answer  :(
Thought I'd go down the USB route instead but I can't find the download on the website, anybody like to point me at it please?

Cheers

Dave

So for the benefit of us tech dummies that have no interest in IP addresses etc, what was the answer.  What's changed?
I used to plug my ethernet cable in, leave it for 20 mins, manually install. Job done.  Now it doesn't.
Dongles in, dongles out, dynamic IPs, what?

Help please...

Cheers

Dave

Just to let you know all is well, picked up loads of contacts yesterday.
Thanks for setting me straight.

Thanks Peter.

Mode C/S switched on now. Doh!
This was all prompted by a Cessna flying the wrong way in the circuit which I had to avoid.  I met him on my cross wind climb out - he having just turned base from his wrong direction down wind.
If only they all used PAWs. Or at least transmitted ADS-B? Most of these guys are using hired planes, whereas I believe most of the PAW adopters seem to be owners so I guess they are less inclined to bother with the faff of setting it up.  How about a cigar socket ADS-B transmitter only - at least 'be seen' in not 'see'?

Sorry for the delay in getting back... been a bit busy.

So, my settings were:
On PAW:
Display Traffic info - Alternative
Mode-C/S Separation -   +-500'
Mode-C/S Detect - Short Range
Mode-C/S Select - None

And on SD:
Show Within Vertically    1000'
Show Bearingless Targets       Set to On

I've increased Mode-C/S Separation to 2000' and on SD Show Within Vertically to 10,000'.
Hopefully get to try it on Sunday.
Any other suggestions gratefully received.

Cheers

Ok guys, just to clear up any confusion, by early adopter I mean when the completed units were first put on sale, not the initial 'home built from bits' ones. I think I was in the first 100 or so to be shipped back in May.
Referring to P3i, Bridges etc doesn't really mean anything to me, I'm not techie, I bought a black box, plugged it in, changed a few settings as per the guide and thought it was good to go.
Not had time to have a look at it yet, but I will report back soon.

It's connecting to Skydemon fine as it uses the PAW GPS for its nav.
I'll have another look at the settings tonight and see if anything looks wrong, then open up the heights and see if that helps.  I'm sure I set it up as per the user guide. I should be seeing stuff going in and out of East Mids I would have thought.
Not sure when I'll be flying again to try it though, but I can set it up at home..
Unfortunately I won't be at the show this year.

Thanks for the advice, I'll come back when I've had a play with it.

Since I got my PAW, and I was a very early adopter, it has never detected another aircraft in flight.
While on the ground months ago, pre-flighting, I did pick up one flying through the overhead, but never in flight.
I fly out of Leicester which gets quite busy at times so would have thought I'd pick up lots of traffic especially in the circuit, but nothing.
How do I tell if it's working?  I think I have it set to the recommended settings etc.

Yes it does thanks.  I can bring the unit home with the P31 attached but leave the ADSB behind in the aircraft.  Just wanted to make sure I wasn't going to break it.

What was the final consensus on running the PAW without the ADSB antenna attached?  I know there was some debate but I cant recall any definite position one way or the other.
If the antenna is 'installed' in the aircraft it makes it inconvenient to take it all off to do updates at home.

Thanks,  I didn't know about the connection key, it was defaulted to 1234.

General Discussion / SOLVED(x2)! - Skydemon connection
« on: May 25, 2016, 07:19:24 am »
At my wits end! :(
Setting up PAW a breeze, well done guys!
Trying to get Skydemon to talk to it from my Android tablet a nightmare.
Press " Go Flying" and it just sits there with the message "Please wait while a connection is established to your external device".
Tablet WiFi connected to the PAW.
Tried the power supply fixes, 2amp Anker power monkey, 1.8amp mains supply.
Can someone help me (in simple terms please) with what I'm doing wrong?

Cheers

Hi Guys

It's all gone a bit quiet so I guess you're all working very hard, but any update on progress of the finished unit?

Regards

Dave
