General Discussion / Re: Mixing up antennae

The flights are not identical, but the mixed antennae trace was for a 1 hour cross-country out and back and is significantly worse than even a half hour of circuits with the correct orientation.

Yes, thanks, I've been repositioning the antennae to improve the rear view since this trace. We have metal A-pillars, pilots and metal rear fuselage working against us until I can get them mounted underneath.

Was just trying to show the effect of mixing the antennae.

I found this interesting, these two traces show the effect of swapping over the extended antennae on a Pilotaware.

It wasn't reporting the the licence expired, but the expiry date was only 5 days ago so that may be the reason.

Technical Support / Updated Key needs to be entered in each profile
« on: March 23, 2018, 10:21:09 pm »
It seems that the licence key needs to be entered in each configuration profile or else it will upload the old expired key when the non-updated profile is selected. Also it seems the unit needs to be powered down to retain the key - in each profile.

Is this all correct?

General Discussion / Alternative case for PilotAware
« on: December 08, 2017, 04:00:30 pm »
I wanted to share an alternative case for the Pilot Aware, viz the Stratux case. They are available on Amazon and eBay. I used the clear one but they are available in white and black. I will follow up with a picture shortly.

The fan and it's brackets need to be removed to accommodate the PilotAware, but it doesn't seem to be necessary for the PilotAware anyway and there are many ventilation holes. The position of the antennae holes require minor adjustment. It results in a slightly larger outer dimension, but IMO cleaner appearance overall and the USB connectors are better protected when being transported.

Christopher

Is the site down or is my info out of date?
Thanks
