How do I change the aircraft symbol from a triangle to something more aircraft-like or even a custom-made symbol?

OK, thanks for your input.

I ran update, upgrade and autremove and then a lsusb and on one line it says

Bus 001 Device 006: ID 0bda:8176 Realtek Semiconductor Corp. RTL8188CUS 802.11n WLAN Adapter

It seems to me that this WiFi dongle is not the right one, or ...?

I can't see the PilotWare on my iPad as a unit coming in.
There are lines in the log which might give a clue:
Error for wireless request "Set Tx Power" (8B26)
Set failed on device wlan0: Operation not permitted
### WiFi ssid= PilotAware-B827EBFF4066
etc ...

Technical Support / Can't connect WiFi to RPi
« on: November 30, 2016, 10:53:17 am »
I have installed all the HW and SW and when loading the RPi I get a login prompt which they say I should ignore. I tried to connect from my iPad 192.168.1.1 but that is the IP address of my home router. I looked in the router list of units connected and I can't see the RPi. I'm sure I have the right WiFi dongle http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/252432669588?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT , it has Chipset: RT5370. What else is there to check? Assistance please!
