Technical Support / Update via USB Memory Stick
« on: February 26, 2022, 02:50:22 pm »
I want to upgrade to 20220101 using a USB memory stick.  The URL https://pilotaware.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/180529-Software-upgrade-by-Flash-Memorystick..
pdf in the 20200906 manual no longer leads to the instructions. The Knowlege Base does not contain details for update via USB.  Please fix the link, or post the instructions. Also, where can I find the full Operating Instructions PDF for 20220101?

General Discussion / The New Website
« on: January 29, 2017, 08:12:47 pm »
My first impression is good.  I have a couple of suggestions, on the Introduction tab, the graphics for the aircraft are a bit too small, especially the only important type (3-axis microlight :) ).  And maybe the list of "What you need to get started" should be a bit less alarming for non-tech types, with more emphasis on the pre-built unit, with a pointer to the fact that DIY is possible.

Keep up the good work,

General Discussion / Aircraft ID in Track File
« on: September 15, 2016, 06:17:53 pm »
In the $PFLAA sentence, an aircraft ID string follows the 24 bit address, separated by a pling.  On a recent flight with another PAW equipped aircraft, the string was "#G-XLAM#" at the start and end of the flight, but plain "G-XLAM" for the middle section.  Why is this?  Both aircraft were in the same (default) group, and had no other equipment apart from PAW.

General Discussion / Track file format
« on: June 26, 2016, 02:02:37 pm »
It had to happen sooner or later, my ground station south of Northampton received it's first pings, 146 from G-ZERO, as evidenced by the track file.  I am using a Moonraker whip on a mast above my house as the P3i aerial, and I would like to determine detection range.  What is the format of the track file, in particular the $PFLAA record, please.
