I've been back to the flarm configuration tool, but I'm still not getting a GPS out, any tips please?

When I go to the power flarm d-sub DE9 connections it lists,

1 Audio out
2. Tx, core sends (RS-232)
3. Rx, core sends (RS-232)
4.Do not connect
5. GND
6. Do not connect
7+12v to +32v DC power supply
8 core supplies +5v DC for pda
9 Core supplies +3v DC for display

There doesn't seem to be an option for GPS out?

Does anyone have any suggestions, when I've tried the pilot aware without the GPS attached it does not find it as we currently have it connected - which is Rx, Tx and ground ?

We have now connected our power flarm core into the pilot aware ! 👍

Now we'd like to connect our transponder for ads-b out, but we've no spare USB ports?

The pfc has gps in, but I'm guessing we can't remove the gps from the pilot aware?

So can we use a splitter cable or is there another way of doing this?

General Discussion / Buying a pilot aware unit
« on: January 30, 2016, 12:39:38 pm »
Is there any news on when it will be possible to buy a unit?

I think we just need another wifi dongle to make our unit work again, but not sure whether our high usage of wifi dongles is because of our ARF board, but thought we would just wait til we could buy a working unit. Keen to be up and working for when the weather settles down.............

thanks

Hi Lee

At the moment (at home) I'm using the mains plug supplied with the raspberry pi.

Once it's working  again I've an Anker 20000mAh power pack with a 20 awg sub cable

Thanks Anne

HI Lee

We're getting a recurring message that says License Fail for Host 7C:DD:90:9D:3A:D5

wifi dongles are from amazon, the one that doesn't work at all is https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00UFJ0MI6/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

and the one that shows pilot aware but won't open 192.168.1.1 on safari is https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00EK3U2FQ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

thanks

After having a working pilotaware for a couple of weeks I'm now really struggling. I updated the software and was, for a time confused, by the absence of the wifi symbol, but the system was working and I understand this is now just that you have changed things to allow the phone network to operate at the same time?

then I became unable to connect to the wifi. Pilotaware just wasn't showing on the ipad, so I thought perhaps the wifi dongle had failed, so..... I have purchased a ralink rt5370 chip wifi dongle which shows, but not as pilot aware. So I purchased another wifi dongle which shows as pilot aware but with a different end number to the original dongle, but when I try to go to 192.168.1.1, it goes to a google search page, if I disable the phone network then it just says unable to connect.

Please can anyone help?

thanks Anne

Yes running 20150919
However flown today from Scarborough to East Fortune and it's working, just that wifi symbol not there.  The only problem we had was with loss of connection about 3 h in just before arriving at East Fortune. Before that seemed to be fine, picking up quite a few targets.

Problems since I changed to the latest release software. Before this it has been working fine.
Now I see pilotaware on the wifi list and after I choose it  the ipad ticks to imply that it's connected but I don't get a wifi symbol on the top left and collision aware won't connect.

I've tried going back to the  previous release but I still have this problem. I'm not sure what I've changed during this process....... I'd be grateful for any suggestions

thanks Anne

Can't seem to get the wifi working.
I've got the screen back putting my config.txt file back on it
I've got a vilros nano usb wifi dongle and I think it maybe has the wrong chip in it - it was supplied with the raspberry pi so I thought it would work, so next plan is to get one that definitely has the rt5370 chip in it and try again

config.txt attached.

I'm still not trouble free - it seems to have installed, but I don't get a stream of boot messages, I'm back to a blank screen?

Success!! I think

After looking at the raspberry pi forums I have copied the config.txt file from my 'good' card onto my pilotaware card and that seems to have done the trick. Just waiting for it to install now.

thanks for your help and apologies for not reading your instructions better.
