Thanks Lee & Russ,

I'm also getting 4 greens with 1 device.
Some good weather returns yesterday!

Thanks Rus,

Normally a computer network connection works in both directions.
That appears not to be the case from your test & I wondered if Lee could shed any light on that.
It seems unnecessary to have two wifi networks in order for two devices to share data.

could you elaborate ?

Yes, if the iPad has an internal cellular internet connection and is also connected to the primaryPAW wifi. Will data flow in both directions (ie Skygrid from PAW to iPad, iGrid from iPad to PAW)?

I'm just trying to get to the nub of this thread's title.

For simplicity can full functionality be achieved with just a GSM iPad & PAW?

Thank you for such a great system.

Dear Lee,

The GSM iPad can share its internet connection via wifi, bluetooth or USB.

Would the PAW accept a such data connection via bluetooth or usb?

Does the PAW require separate data in & data out connections?

Thanks,

Roger

Thanks for the new software version which I am looking forward to using.

Updated today via iOS & my old home page link takes me straight to the radar page (see attachment).

Neither 192.168.1.1 nor paw.local would take me to the home page, just radar.

Roger

Technical Support / Track File Missing
« on: July 31, 2021, 01:52:21 pm »
I am running a PAW classic with Charge4 power supply & Juicebitz cable.

Recently swapped to external antennae & very pleased with vector analysis & atom grid reception.

I have recently been downloading tracks post flight to assess the antenna performance on aircrew website and noticed a couple of times that no track file was stored despite the unit operating normally during the flight.

Looking for any suggestions to diagnose this please.

Regards,

Roger

General Discussion / Longer antenna cable
« on: June 20, 2021, 06:37:36 pm »
Hi,

I would like to try an external antenna in the tailboom of my Europa which will require a 2.5 to 3m long cable.

Can PilotAware supply the external antenna with longer cables?

Thanks,

Roger

I am also interested in this question.

Vector seems to measure downlink range but my flarm glider avoidance relies on uplink range.

Is that right?

This problem has recurred for me since iOS14 update & I attach settings screenshots.
iPad browser connects to the PAW but not Skydemon.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,

Roger

Yes, very helpful thanks Peter,

I always found those settings slightly confusing & now I understand them just before the update. ;D

Hope to update & test fly with new antenna tomorrow.
