Title: Raspberry Pi3B
Post by: Nkt2000 on October 11, 2018, 01:35:48 pm
I am hoping to persuade the domestic finance director to get me a Rosetta upgrade for chrimbo.  I have been looking at getting a pi3b to go with it but the price seems to be going steadily upwards.  Cost more than a b+ now.  Anyone any tips on a cost effective supplier?

@Paul Sengupta,

That’s a 3B+ you’ve linked to. PAW won’t run on it.

No it isn't...click on the first box. The first one is a B. The next one along, and the rest, are B+.

Sorry Paul,

I read the header and presumed that the bundles were all B+. My apologies

A quick search gave the only UK source with current availability of Pi3 Bs as www.modmypi.com - £31.99 would be a good price too, but the £3.50 postage pushes it up a bit.

 :D

Amazon seem to have them, but they're getting up in price. Probably because of their rareness. Lee's probably bought them all.  ;D

I fell into the B+ trap. Luckily there are many builder communities where people have the B and will be happy to trade-up for a B+.
My problem lasted less than a day.

I don’t know if you have a CEX store nearby (one of these places that sell refurbished phones etc) as our one always seems to have Pi 3B’s in stock, they are sold as second hand (but with a 24 month warranty) and vary from brand new and sealed to used with a case and SD card.
Irrespective of the configuration they all seem to be at a fixed price of £30.

Hi Chris,

Thanks for that - Unfortunately, however, prices seem to go up and down like yo-yos these days, so it generally needs a bit of research each time before buying. Just looked at Amazon - they list a ‘used’ Pi3B for £32.25, but new 3Bs are now £34.72.  :-\
