Where is the operational documentation that's mentioned in the doc linked from this thread?

I want to know how to configure the on screen warnings in SkyDemon

Thx,

Paul

General Discussion / Re: GPS Ublox7 Dongle connection problems

I haven't tried with the unit I got today, but with the unit I built about 3/12 ago, the GPS dongle was better than the iPad's own.  How can you tell how many satellites it's picked up?

My QSG only had one side which explains my confusion.  Thanks for the superfast response.... PAW now working with Skydemon.

I don't know whether I have some paperwork missing, but I only have a Quick Start Guide.  The QSG mentions nothing about licence keys, nor how to connect to the internal webserver.  However I guessed that the address would be 192.168.1.1 which seems to work but tells me that the licence key is expired.  (the boxes for it are all zero.

What have I done wrong?  I can'r immediately see any more paperwork and there's nothing on the emails that I received to help me

General Discussion / Re: First Airborne test today
« on: December 04, 2015, 10:45:43 pm »
We had a Helimed about 500metres from us on the ground at N.Weald that showed up on the display but no warnings on the screen. So if we had been in the air, perhaps looking out of the window we would have been oblivious, (unless we happen to see it).

I've not had decent enough weather when not at work to test the system in the air, but I live fairly close to Birmingham airport (about 3 miles away) and SkyDemon showed a "trajectory" bar against "Emirates 39" as it was on final.

What happens if you connect 2 devices at the same time (or try to)?

I was saying to Dave earlier today, the new mini Pi might be useful for creating an PAW for drones.

Is there a business opportunity there?  Licensing agreement?

General Discussion / Testing ADSB receipt

Unfortunately not the weather for airborne testing, so I set my device up inside.  The location was on the floor (1st floor) at Coventry Airport so facing SE (140).  I had SkyDemon set to pick up all altitudes (40K') and it was picking up traffic as far S as Southampton (+14.3) and as far north as Sheffield (+33.3).

I was quite impressed with that from that location.

Apols if this is considered noise.

Any news on the ARF/baro board?

Sorry if this is classed as noise, but now I've got the right WiFi dongle, the setup was a breeze.  Traffic showing on SkyDemon.

Thanks all!

btw. I don't think your SD card can be read-only if you've got as far as you have!

Thx.  I don't think it is either.

It's a B+ (or so it says on the box) and the software was PilotAware.20151114.

If I relieve myself of my eBay aversion and get the known good wifi dongle, will it work or will the setup have failed also (due to the bad dongle)?

I've no idea what chipset it uses, but thought I'd selected it from the known good hardware list on here.  It certainly works with NOOBs.  Perhaps that's where I've gone wrong ad I will have ordinarily avoided eBay.

As for the card, it hasn't got a slider in it (do microSD cards have those?)  The adapter does have a slider... sliding it makes no discernible difference.  I've googled a fair bit and it's clear I'm not the only one with this issue related to SD cards, but non of the proposed solutions works.

Are some SD cards single write only?  In fact this can't be true of this card because I added the  PAW files, booted the pi and now there are two partitions so it's clearly been written to twice!
