Title: Monitoring ground station mains remotely
Post by: steveu on July 14, 2022, 08:45:54 am
I'm not a fan of having to go out to a site to find that the mains is off and that is why cameras or ground stations are not working.

Remotely monitoring mains saves time and money.

I use these where I need to know about mains status:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Hopcd-1-Channel-Security-Magnetic-Infrared-default/dp/B08BFBCVCB (https://www.amazon.co.uk/Hopcd-1-Channel-Security-Magnetic-Infrared-default/dp/B08BFBCVCB)

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/353081833941 (https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/353081833941)

Or cheaper direct from AliExpress... but under £50.

Warnings:

Do not buy them without the internal battery. The internal battery is needed for the loss of mains SMS to be sent

Do not use them without conducting a mobile phone signal survey. They are 2G devices. No point putting  a 3 SIM in them. Networks like O2 with lots of legacy 2G are best, IMO.
