Title: PilotAware plus Mode S
Post by: mortimera on May 28, 2016, 08:27:41 am
Hi, if I have PilotAware PLUS a mode S transponder (with extended  squitter) will that raise any issues for others nearby with PilotAware receiving two signals from my aircraft? Thanks

Response from Lee:
No problem whatsoever, PilotAware works on a totally different frequency and has been CE Tested (to death!) and will not interfere
PilotAware(P3I) - 869Mhz
Transponder - 1090Mhz

We have lots of users who are outputting both ADS-B and P3I.

Only other PAW devices will see both your transmissions. If you have configured both your Mode S ES and PAW correctly to use your ICAO hex code then those other PAW devices ought to recognise that you as a P3I target and you as an ADS-B target are one and the same aircraft.
