Hi Martin,

As previously advised, perfectly OK to mount it on a small bracket as long as it is kept 'right side up'.

Just a minor point - are you aware that the GPS mouse contains a magnet - which of course won't stick to aluminium, but would mount perfectly onto a light steel bracket... (or you could of course use double-sided tape).

Best Regards

Peter

Technical Support / Re: FX data in and out - Skyview Compatible for both?

As I said, Russ, I did ask for clarification of the RJ12 wiring but have not yet got the definitive answer. I assumed it would be the Flarm wiring I supplied but I have found differences even to that recently. The wiring to the Flarm input of the LED+ indicator has changed in the last few months, which leads me to suspect that not all Flarm outputs are equal and, therefore, not all Flarm wiring diagrams are to be taken as read  :(

I think it's going to be a matter of trial and error but I'm not in a position right now to do so.

Technical Support / Re: Problem Receiving FLARM With Rosetta in France
« Last Post by steveu on March 27, 2024, 08:01:08 pm »
Good evening
I fly in France and unfortunately there are very few ATOM stations, if any at all...
I think that the flarm signals are recovered via the OGN by the network of my GSM and transmitted by rs232 and wifi to the Dynon and aircrew screens.
In the last few days these signals have disappeared from the Rosetta, hence my question.

Rosetta doesn't use the OGN. Reasons are explained elsewhere. OGN derived FLARM signals aren't therefore a Rosetta issue.

There is a big issue with the OGN that until the stations are all manually updated, there will be a loss of functionality.

In order to receive FLARM via iGrid you'd need some way of injecting it into iGrid?

So common ground wasn’t the problem. The Skyview still can’t see the Pilot Aware FX. I’ve wired the input and output cables from the FX as per the Farm diagram above and connected these to the same pins has used for the USB to RS232 cables that the Rosetta successfully was using.I’ve run out of ideas now and other than concluding that the FX unit is supplying incompatible data and is unable to receive the NMEA data in. I don’t know where to go?

General Discussion / Re: Aircrew.co.uk and PilotAware Playback Sites

Hi Steve, I had tried that site (and just tried again), but i couldn't get it to work with a PAW .trk file, it returns "No valid GPS Data detected", whichever output option is chosen.

Yes, I checked it out last night, and have emailed the developer.

It has worked with .trk files in the past as stored emails verified.

I'll keep you posted.

Sadly https://playback.pilotaware.com/playback/ is still not getting past the upload phase, to display the track, on any of my devices......

I would not be surprised if FlySto is getting mode s traffic also, as the near miss I had two years ago was with an old PA28-140 and I’d be surprised if it was sporting ADSB. I have the reg and details from FlySto as all I uploaded was my old SkyDemon .kml file to check on the close encounter.
