Title: No GPS SkyDemon.
Post by: flyer jones on October 23, 2015, 10:20:45 pm
Got it up and running everything seems to be OK using ARF + Charge4 board with Baro sensor DVB and WiFi Dongle.
Using Nexus 7 Android Skydemon I set Skydemon to use flarm with connect key 6000 and it connects when I select go flying and use flarm but Skydemon no longer can see any GPS satellites.
Am I missing something here???
If I deselect use Flarm then the GPS is there and position information is back.

Without a GPS dongle you need to install and run the PilotAwareAndroid app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.millsconsulting.PilotAwareAndroid) before running Skydemon.

Thanks for that I didn’t realise that it was necessary for Skydemon to work properly I thought it was only needed to send GPS data back into Pilot Aware.

Thank you.

I know a few users have reported the GPS signal freezing using this App.
I wonder if Chris Mills could comment here ?

I think for the price of about £10, the ublox gps dongle is very good

Thx

Yep my Nexus acts the goat in this respect.

I'd like to borrow a GPS dongle at the next meet up to see if that indeed fixes it.
