Title: Software Updates
Post by: Bartonflyer on December 06, 2015, 11:07:41 am
I see there is an update available - is it OK just to unpack the update and overwrite the current contents of the SD card or should you reformat the card and start again as though it is a new install?

BTW took the unit  flying on Friday morning and it performed perfectly, down the low-level route between Manchester & Liverpool gave plenty of traffic reports which was very encouraging!

Reformat as per the software installation guide.

Reformat as per the software installation guide.

Whoops - red face here, clearly an RTFM moment but Ian is obviously far too polite to say so, I consider my wrist well & truly slapped  :)

Silly Question, I'll ask it if no one else will.   :-[  What are the new feature on the configure page all about?
Extra logging options and TX options below.  Or do i just not need to know that.   ;D

Cheers

Not a silly question, just a lack of documentation on my part :(
replay - internal/demo use only (will be removed)
tfc - log messages to traffic display (RS232)
trp - log messages to transponder (RS232)
adsb - log messages from ADSB receiver
nmea - log messages from GPS receiver (TCP,USB)
nav - log messages to traffic display (TCP)
trx - log messages to/from P3I radio

TX_MAX, TX_TYP, TX_MIN, internal use (will be removed)

Hope that helps
Thx
Lee

Anyone had trouble installing the last update ? formatted and downloaded the image 3 times now and when the card is put into the PAW I get a FAT error, any ideas ? you can continue the install but locks up part way in.

Have you followed the software installation instructions to the letter ?
What you describe is usually due to a formatting error

Thx

Yes, I did the previous update no problem on a new card, I'll give it another go and try another formatting programme although I am using the recommended one.

Cheers

Nick.

Hi Nick

The problem you describe is usually due to incorrect settings of the formatter
Just double checking the exact options are selected, when formatting
Before loading the software

Thx

Hi Lee
tried using the windows formatter, full format, all good this time no problem, no idea why the other formatter failed.
