Hi Again, first time out since I updated PW, the Trip out to Cardiff was fine, picking up a few aircraft near me, and the local QNH on the radar was very helpful,      but the return trip I picked up two ghosts that followed me all the way to Lydd,
My Aware is connected through my avionics switch so didn’t want to reboot while passing close to controlled airspace, I would loose radios and transponder,
Needless to say only the outbound ( log) track showed up fine but not the return, is this problem being resolved with a new download?
Many thanks

hi Peter
have checked the log file and unfortunately there isn't any data for the flight back from Sywell.
the trip up on the 3 sept is there but nothing for the return home on the 5 sept,
it shows me static at home on the 6 after the update and I can see aircraft going into city and Heathrow when I wind out out to maximum distance,
cannot be of any more help I'm afraid but well pleased with PWare performance ,

Hi Peter
You are correct it was updated to 20201101  ;D
I will check the track files today to see if they are of any use to you,

Thank you Peter, as I was on the ground at Sywell there where undoubtedly a number of aircraft transmitting EC,
Since arriving home and booting up it’s working flawlessly again, but have taken the opportunity to upgrade to the latest software 20200906 and pleasantly surprised at how easy it is using the
PilotAware Firmware Updater v1.75,
Very pleased with the results and now ready for installing back in the Aircraft

Thanks for that, must confess I didn’t try that as it meant switching of my avionics switch and passing
Between Luton/ Stansted/City it wouldn’t have been a good idea,
I have brought the Rossetti home to bench test it so will see if a reboot is all it needs, ;D

Just got back from the LAA rally and had four aircraft keeping station with me for the whole trip.
Totally impossible as they where a mix of RV6/sports cruiser/ Seneca and Eurostar,
Also lost audio, probably a good thing as it would have driven me nuts,
Any suggestions on what could be the problem?

Just checked on Farnell and the correct cable does have both yellow and orange, so it looks like you used the wrong lead from the cable,

Hi Graham
All I can say is using the correct cable from farnell there is definitely a orange wire and I believe a yellow one,
Are you sure they used (A) the correct cable and (B) used the correct orange wire from it?
As peter has said there are a lot of counterfeit cables out there on Ebay that won’t work,

The last question is easy to answer, you have to leave the SD card in permanently, it’s basically the
Rosetta operating system and pilot aware files all in one,
I haven’t yet updated mine, the previous update worked fine with a clean and full formatted card,
Downloaded the complete update file and drag/drop into the clean SD card,
Put new card into the Rosetta and power up, after about four minutes it’s good to log into from your
Tablet to reset all your settings,

I'm not advertising on behalf of Richard but the Charge4 Series of USB Supply Units work extremely well.
As an earliy adopter of PAW I had troubles with power consistency using cigarette lighter adapters. Noise and inconsistent 5V supply!
I fitted a Charge2 and PAW is rock solid now.
A Hangar resident chose the Charge4 and can affirm the same consistent reliability. Its worth that little bit extra over and nightmare effeciencies of the the cigarette light type.
IMHO.
Regard
Gerry
Likewise I had some power problems mainly interference on the radio so fitted the charge4 USB power
Supply, it’s been rock solid now for the last year,
It’s not the cheapest option but definitely the best way around getting smooth interference free power
To a Pilotaware,

I have a 3.5mm lead from the Rossetta to my Bose A20 headset with SkyDemon connected through Bluetooth to my iPad, works a treat,  volume is adjustable for both via their own preferences,

Hi
Not wishing to hijack the thread, But I am still running the May 2018 software,
Any idea when the next Stable update will be released?
Many thanks

The obvious thing to check first is the Fitted usb putting out over 2.1 amps ?  If it isn’t then the Rosetta won’t boot up, the majority of problems are lack of power or incorrect power leads giving too much voltage drop,
Simple stuff to check out first,
