Title: Licensing Broken - Now Fixed in 20151107
Post by: Admin on November 07, 2015, 05:07:43 pm
Hi All,

I have just discovered that the licensing is broken.

If you have installed 20151030, and had to request a new license it will likely not be working.
I will be releasing a fix in the next 24 hours

Apologies for this mistake
Thx
Lee

Hi Lee
Are you saying that if you have a code already it will not work or that the licence code auto generator is now no longer generating codes.
Kind Regards
Brinsley

Hi Brinsley,
If you already have a license no problem
The issue is as follows
I changed the hotspot name to use the eth0 port name, rather than wlan0.
Unfortunately the license check is based on wlan0 - annoying mistake

I have a fix will be uploaded tomorrow

Thx
Lee

I was down with Ridders tonight and we had some problems getting the MAC address, it just scrolls up the screen. He used a Wifi dongle I had used before, and it connected using the MAC address in the WLAN name, so we used that to get a licence. It worked ok on the latest software. So it seems it still works ok if you want to use the WLAN MAC address.

Hi Paul
That's correct, the wlan0 generated key is fine, i have a fix to upload this morning.

The reason I changed this, is that there were a lot of requests to bind the license to the PI rather than the WiFi dongle, and I think this is a better way to go

Thx
