PAW FUTURE WORKING IN GLIDING INSTRUMENTS?
« on: May 05, 2017, 05:31:57 pm »
Hi to all
I'd like to know if in near future PAW will be interfaced via WIFI or other systems with LX or LX navigation instruments .
This could be a good think I suppose for all the gliding pilots that could be interested .

Thanks a lot

Paolo

What interface do the LX tools use ?

Can you provide a weblink / reference ?

These are the 2 weblink

1)lxnav.com
2)lxnavigation.com

Today they have an interface for showing ADSB AND MODE S AND C transponder via an HARDWARE  manufactured from Air avionics called TRX 1090  (at a very expensive price)
http://www.air-avionics.com/air/index.php/en/products/collision-avoidance/trx-1090-ads-b-transponder-receiver
PAW could be a very good opportunity for all glider community want to have an eye on other gliders in confluence conditions due to the fact that now FLARM signal is becoming at every mandatory update weaker and weaker !!!because of the very old hardware .

Hi Paulo

I need to know the type of system you wish to connect
The trx1090 is simply an interface bewtween flarm and navigation systems

So can you provide an example navigation system you wish to connect
Or the protocol you wish to support ?

Edit
Looking at the zeus system, it looks like it takes flarm over Rs232, this is supported today

thx

Hi Lee,
the instrument is called LX 9000 and is very well known in the gliding community.
The TRX 1090 is not only an interface is a ADSB + TRANSPONDER RECEIVER that is interconnected with ports to the LX 9000
As told before LX 9000 has got the possibility to be connected via WIFI(with separate accessory) ,but honestly speaking mine is only an idea I have absolutely no idea how to connect.

Just for your understanding at this link  http://www.lxnav.com/download/manuals.html  you can download the installation manual of the LX 9000

thanks
