Hi Lee
Yes it says     Skydemon/Butterfly connect ?
using version 0926 but see you have released another update. of which i will try
Power supply is 12v to usb built in.
Wi-Fi dongle swapped for another same outcome.

I will try a USB power monkey back up to see if this helps.

Many thanks. Glenn

Are you running CollisionAware, or a GPS dongle connected to PilotAware ?

HI Lee

We're getting a recurring message that says License Fail for Host 7C:DD:90:9D:3A:D5

wifi dongles are from amazon, the one that doesn't work at all is https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00UFJ0MI6/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

and the one that shows pilot aware but won't open 192.168.1.1 on safari is https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00EK3U2FQ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

thanks

Anne

Hi Anne
Not sure if this is related, but I have read some postings which say some wifi dongles only work when they are in the usb slot furthest from the rj45 ethernet connection, sounds like a long shot to me.

It seems there are a lot of wifi dongles which really are not compatible.

There is a known good list here posted by members
http://forum.pilotaware.com/index.php/topic,110.0.html

I may have asked before, so just wanted to confirm the power supply and power usb cable you are using ?

Thx
Lee

Hi Lee

At the moment (at home) I'm using the mains plug supplied with the raspberry pi.

Once it's working  again I've an Anker 20000mAh power pack with a 20 awg sub cable

Thanks Anne

Have you received a licence in respect of each WiFi dongle?

Have you received a licence in respect of each WiFi dongle?

The Web server will still run without a license, so this is not an issue

Hi Lee
Iam using collisionaware app

did a test at home this is what happened?
working ok, then after a bout 1/2 hr had this
The exact words are

''The connection to your GPS has been lost''

click ok it says

''Please wait while a connection is established to your external device''.

then it says

''Failed to establish a connection with the Butterfly connect unit''

software 1003
Collisionaware App latest version 0.3
USB power mains

Any idea? as this seems to be the only fault i have otherwise perfect

Hi

Can you tell me what is in your system, do you have the ARF available ?

These issues tend to come down to 3 issues, in this order

1. Quality of USB Power supply & cable
What is the current output of your power supply
What is the power rating of the cable eg 20 AWG ?

2. WiFi Dongle
Should be RT5370, but many (alleged) RT5370 have issues

3. WiFi interference

Thx
Lee

Hi Lee
by gad mate i think ive cracked it.
You sent me a WI-FI dongle which i kept in case mine was crap, guess what after 10 minute i kept losing
connection so change everything in sequence it appears it be the wi-fi dongle bought from
ebay.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/231483794170?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

this doesn't say on the packet what the chip set is, it's just advertised as the RT5370 but it defiantly is the reason.
Can you post me a link where you purchased yours from?

Many thanks Glenn

That is the site listed as supplying known good dongles! I have replacements coming from there to replace ones already supplied from elsewhere which have the wrong chipset >:(
