New toy from China:

PAW P2 with bridge:



On boot it runs at about .45A climbing to a stable .65A.

Dongle only cost a fiver mind you.

Those are great for a rough guide, especially given the price.  I have a couple of other types and they very handy.

They can, however, mask what is really going on.  PilotAware doesn't draw a steady state, the consumption constantly varies as it works, this screen shot is about 5 seconds worth of power consumption to give an insight into what is going on.
