Wifi issue
« on: January 03, 2016, 10:41:52 am »
hello all,

I have setup PAW unit as described using parts as described, ( using adsb at the moment only). I have a problem with the wifi dongle,

I have to leave it unplugged until a few seconds into the boot of the rpi, when I plug it in after a few moments everything works ok.
I am using a 2A power supply. if I leave the wifi dongle before power up the rpi doesn't boot up. (on monitor I get a blank white screen)
when I unplug wifi dongle it boots up then, at that stage its guesswork when to plug dongle back in to get it working.

I have reformatted etc a few times, I am using latest software, any ideas.

Hi Gary,

Must admit, sounds like a hardware bug.

Have you tried the following :-
1. Different usb slot for WiFi Dongle
2. Different WiFi Dongle (Known Working)

Failing this, it sounds like a faulty Raspberry Pi.

Thx
Lee

Hi Gary.  Try turning off all bluetooth devices close by.
My hands free kit in the car causes my wifi connection
to my Paw to fail.
