I'm trying to find out if there is a network issue when using an FX on a Wifi network which is on the same subnet as the FX has to be on for traffic info to SD.
Example - I'm snagging an FX in a flex, using the Wifi in the hangar. The Wifi router is on the 192.168.1.x subnet. The Wifi router's gateway is on 192.168.1.254 in order to avoid a clash with the FX which will need to be on 192.168.1.1 for the traffic info to work. The Wifi router's DHCP range is 50 - 99, so there will also be no clashes.
Does the FX get confused if its own wireless network and the iGrid access are on the same subnet, in this case, 192.168.1.0/24?
When the FX is powered up, ADS-B, P3i and GPS lights all go green. The networking one only ever goes blue.
The wireless connection is on in iGrid, but iGrid remains red in the status.
I suspect that when I used my small wireless dongle/MiFi previously, it all worked because the MiFi is on the 192.168.8.x subnet, that is 192.168.8.0/24
Any thoughts on this, and any network restrictions for me to be aware of?
