I updated the firmware on my pilotaware FX and it now claims that my
Licence expired despite the licence being valid until November 2025. I try re-entering the licence code and still get the same message. What is going on? I emailed support but no response

Hi,

Apologies, for the slower than expected email support response? PM me your email if you haven't received a response from us.

We've patched this issue in an incremental release pushed out today. 20250512.

Please connect FX to an internet hotspot for auto-updating, or through a manual software update as described here.

Good evening
Been getting the licence expired on the previous update and since then the hotspot connection has been near impossible to connect, ive almost given up with it.
Was hoping today’s update may have fixed it but still no hotspot connection even though Igrid lists it under mywifi connections.
The WiFi led never flashes blue or green either, stumped at the moment.

The patch will take effect once a full GPS lock has been established and the time resets.

And a friendly reminder that we do have a support phone line available +441789 224324 if you need guidance. I don't bite!

Cheers,

Ashley

Quick update.
Deleted all previous known wifi connections on IPad mini 6 cellular. (I use the IPad for BOTH wifi connections) this then leaves my phone free for calls etc.
Took the FX up the garden so not near wifi from the house and got full GPS lock for latest update.

Turn on IPad, enable hotspot, then switch on FX which connects to hotspot immediately.
Then connect to FX  Wifi and get message stating hotspot will switch off (which it does).
Switch hotspot back on and open Igrid and hotspot already listed, select it and hey presto, perfect every time.
May be of help to someone.

My FX auto-updated (over iGrid) today and worked flawlessly.

Hi All,

As Ash has stated above, an Automatic or Manual software update, followed by an Auto or Hard restart (switch the unit off, then on again AFTER the update has completed downloading) should fix this issue, provided the unit gets a full GPS fix (so might not work immediately if the unit is indoors or in a metal hangar).

I have updated the Thread Title accordingly.

Best Regards
