Rosetta and USB

Hi All,

Just wondered how you got access to the USB ports on Rosetta. I have just got mine and cannot figure our where they are. They are certainly not accessible externally and I cannot see any panels that would easily come off to get to them.

Hi Steevo,
You will need to cut the label and remove the end cover. Not sure why it is not sent out cut as most users will need to remove the cover to do updates.
If you look at the sides you will see that the top section away from the antennas is a separate part. Cut the label with a sharp knife between the joins on each side, just enough to cut the label only. Once cut the cover needs to be pushed down in the middle and slid away from the antenna.
Don't understand why the fan area is left clear with no fan fitted, yet the cooling vents over the dongles are blanked off  ???
Picture is worth a thousand words. This is not a Rosetta, but a very similar case.

Many thanks Ian.

Now managed to find them. Not a great design to be honest. I had to pull with quite some force to get that cover off. I don't think it will be long before that breaks. A better design would have been to put a couple of USB extenders so that the 2 free USB ports are in the bottom of the case and you don't have to take the cover off. In my aircraft, I also connect it to a flarm device so this cover would have to be off all the time which makes it look a bit ugly.

I might try and make up a dual USB extender and fit it in the bottom of the case. I can see a few broken cases coming up. I hope these covers will be sold as spares in the future.

Steevo, If you push down in the right place, no force is required.
